A Thank You from Journey Home Community

All of us at Journey Home Community, a faith-based non-profit organization that serves refugee claimants, are exceptionally grateful the team at Burban Group Painting for sending their team, at no cost, to paint our run-down emergency/transitional house, called the Olivet Welcome House (owned by Olivet Baptist Church), located in New Westminster, BC.

Burban Group Painting was very sympathetic to our cause of providing homeless, newly arrived refugee claimant families with immediate housing, transitional housing, settlement services and relational support, and wanted to support our work and participate in the project in any way they could. They were very knowledgeable about what shades and tones of colours would work best with the dark grain wood trimmings in the house and was very professional and helpful throughout the colour decision process.

Their staff donated their time and skills to serve their community by giving this 100 year old house a much needed facelift. The hardworking and skilled team of painters worked tirelessly to paint the whole house – 5 bedrooms, living and dining rooms, and a kitchen – including doors and trim – in one day! And they even vacuumed the whole house after they finished, which was very much appreciated after their long day’s work!

On behalf of all of us at Journey Home Community and the future refugee claimants that will be welcomed into this house – THANK YOU!!
